That is a great example of a warning sign to look for in those we serve. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Jodie, Thank you for sharing. Do you mind if I share your comment to all attendees?
From Jodie Diehl talking about her experience: My most common flag of PTSD at end of life is when patient shares experiences, its as if happened yesterday. It visually effects their appearance and demeanor...they are broken over it.
Feel free to talk within the chatbox and reply to all panelists and attendees
Can you please share the link for NPR study that was referenced?
Hi Tyson, here is the NPR link
All of the links in the webinar, will be available on the WHV website with the PPT.
Please note that pain management is of course essential, but we need to be cognizant of how it impacts symptoms of PTSD.
Thank you Kristen for your note! :) If anyone has any questions for the Q&A section, please send them over!
Thank you for your question Jodie!

I was really surprised by some of the pharmacological data provided.
As the daughter of a Vietnam vet with PTSD, I highly recommend "When We Came Home" a book by Jack McCabe. It's inexpensive on Amazon and an easy read. Jack interviewed many veterans and then documented their homecoming experiences. After reading 3 or 4 chapters in the book one can immediately identify trends in how the veterans feel about their service and how those feelings have effected their lives. Because he didn't talk about it, I never truly understood my father until I was 40 yrs old and had read this book.
Thank you Chrystal for the recommendation.
I formed a partnership with the Junior Sailors Association at a local army base to recruit volunteers for our We Honor Veterans program. Veterans find such value in communicating their life stories and navigating them with those who "speak their language" and can truly relate. These active military volunteers are such a valued resource in helping us serve the unique needs of our Veterans.
Is the screen frozen or did it just get stopped? Mine has been stuck at 51:22 for several minutes?
